The main event segment was more well-received than most everything else on the show, and it was basically Steve Austin talking about how WWE, the Legends, and the fans are one big happy family—at a time in which those fans are serving divorce papers on a weekly basis.
It was pretty corny stuff elevated by the fact that Austin is Austin. As he cracked the odd amusing anecdote, his fellow Legends looked on. The gathering didn’t look too dissimilar to an autograph convention, but who was gonna queue for many of those names, really?
WWE didn’t entrust Ric Flair with a live mic, but hilariously did allow Hulk Hogan to speak.
A love-in of the past played to an audience in despair at the present, if this was any more backwards, Jerry Lawler would complain about political correctness going mad on his next podcast.
