20 Reasons Why WWE Fastlane 2019 Was An Absolute Mess

7. 2014 Rey Mysterio

Way to hang Mustafa Ali out to dry.

The former 205 Live man played the role of 2014 Rey Mysterio last night. Ali was inserted into the Daniel Bryan vs. Kevin Owens WWE Championship bout, and, much like Rey was obliterated for not being Bryan in the 2014 Royal Rumble, Mustafa was slaughtered because he wasn't Kofi Kingston.

It's almost understandable. Ali was jeered for not being Kingston, and that sucks. At the same time, though, Ali isn't Kingston... and that sucks too.

Mustafa's story is a mess at the moment. Yes, he was probably owed a WWE Title shot when injury cost him the opportunity to compete at Elimination Chamber, but giving him one at the expense of the hottest male act in the company didn't make a jot of sense. Only in WWE will you find a babyface being used to take heat for another babyface's undermining.
