20 Reasons Why WWE WrestleMania 39 Absolutely RULED
1. A Top Three WrestleMania
Genuinely.
Night two's divisive conclusion aside, what was legitimately hated from this WrestleMania?
John Cena put over the younger talent on what may have been his final 'Mania. The men's WrestleMania Showcase was all kinds of merriment from a match that otherwise had no purpose. Logan Paul put forward another applicant for the title of pro wrestling's best celebrity-turned-wrestler. The women's six-man tag team bout, while not blow-away great, still delivered some neat sequences that meshed three eras of WWE wonderfully. Rey and Dominik Mysterio's family affair was sports entertainment in every positive manner. Rhea Ripley's succession was a moment three years in the making well worth waiting for. Pat McAfee's comeback and Michael Cole's reaction to said return was jovial. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn's sincere win over The Usos was a poignant chapter in a story they've written together for decades.
Brock Lesnar vs. Omos was plain fun. The women's 'Mania Showcase, although not on the level of its men's predecessor, maintained a solid pace. The Intercontinental title match was warlike and a contender for match of the year. Bianca Belair and Asuka over-delivered in a spot that often causes instant nonperformance. Shane McMahon's ill-fated comeback and Snoop Dogg's sort-of People's Elbow were side-splitting hilarious. The Hell in a Cell match has its fearsome aura back. Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes was a WrestleMania headliner.
Only a sceptic would turn their nose at this weekend.
It's up there with WrestleMania X-Seven.
