20 Scariest Wrestling Moments Ever

8. The Leatherfaces Vs. Shoji Nakamaki And Hiroshi Ono

Corporal Kirchner had a brief run in WWE during the 1980s, even defeating Nikolai Volkoff at WrestleMania II, but his greatest success came in Japan. There, as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre-inspired Leatherface, he began competing in ultra-violent deathmatches.

When Kirchner was arrested and jailed, another wrestler was given the Leatherface gimmick, but he returned and the two monsters tagged against popular babyfaces Shoji Nakamaki and Hiroshi Ono. The match was violent, of course, but it was even more violent than it was supposed to be. In an unplanned spot, the original Leatherface ripped a piece off of a nail-covered board, placed it on Ono's throat, then dropped a leg on the board.

After the bout, he powerbombed Ono onto what remained of the bed of nails. Fans were shocked by the level of carnage, and to punctuate it, one of the Leatherfaces charged into the crowd with his signature chainsaw. Still, whether fans were in the arena or watching at home, they were undoubtedly terrified.
