Everyone knows about the wonder and glory that was WCW's cruiserweight division, but it wasn't just the luchadors and everyone else. The company historically did a fantastic job of promoting and differentiating their championship divisions. The world title picture was very exclusive, but the U.S title scene was also very prestigious. Until the last year or so, all of WCW's championship were big deals, up to and including its tertiary one, the television title.

For many years, the TV title holder was the most visible champion in the company, thanks to the unique rules surrounding its defense. While most titles must defend once a month, the TV title was supposed to have been defended on each television show, with matches having either a ten or fifteen minute time limit. That gave the matches a unique style and rhythm that others didn't have.

The list of champions is also almost absurdly impressive for a third-tier title: Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, Lex Luger, Sting, Steve Austin, Booker T, Ricky Steamboat, Chris Jericho, Sting, Great Muta, Roddy Piper, Ivan Koloff and about a dozen others.
