20 Things We Learned From Brock Lesnar On Stone Cold's WWE Network Podcast

5. Winning The UFC Title & Diverticulitis

Stone Cold asks Brock what was going through his mind when he caught Randy Couture with the shot that put him down and won him the UFC title, and he responds that he was just thankful for the opportunity, He says that Dana and Lorenzo Fertitta aren't dummies and saw how many pay-per-views he was selling, and they wanted the belt off Couture because they were involved in a dispute with him. Austin then moves into discussion about Lesnar's struggle with diverticulitis. The Beast calls in unfair and says if it wasn't for his illness he doesn't know if you'd have ever seen him in a pro wrestling ring because he'd probably still be busting heads. I'm sure Vince McMahon loved that remark. Steve asks if we ever saw Brock fight at 100% and he responds that he feels like he was at his best against Couture, but after that he knew something was physically wrong with him. He admits that his stubbornness kept him from getting a CT scan on his stomach until he fell out of his deer stand in Canada and almost died. The doctor told him he would give him eight hours of trying to save his fight career, but made it clear that he would save his life before he did his career.
