8. Roddy Piper Pulled A Gun On Him Over A Snake Prank

There's another, slightly less upsetting story about Piper.

Roddy was notoriously afraid of snakes, and so Jake thought it'd be hilarious to sneak up on his pal one day backstage holding a python. When Piper turned around, his eyes popped out of his head and he started freaking out. To Jake's surprise, Roddy reacted by pulling a hand gun on him.

Read that again: one man was holding a massive snake, and the other was pointing a gun at his head. That's the kind of thing that (thankfully) wouldn't happen backstage at a WWE event today. In fairness, Jake admits it was hardly commonplace back in the 80s either.

Eventually, Piper calmed to the point that he lowered the piece and accepted Roberts' apology. Imagine he'd pulled the trigger accidentally or through fear however. That isn't lost on Jake today. One of his best friends almost shot him all because of a juvenile prank.
