20 Things You Learn Watching WWE Since 1997

3. Everybody Comes Back Eventually

Since Eric Bischoff took over WCW and decided to compete with WWE by signing up as many top stars as possible, dozens upon dozens of wrestlers have left the company under the worst circumstances imaginable. Almost all of them eventually came back.

Brock Lesnar sued WWE in order to get out of an unreasonably strict non-complete clause, and was victorious, allowing him to pursue a career in MMA. His wife, Rena "Sable" Mero, sued the company at the end of her first tenure, they settled, and she was back in WWE a few years later. Bret Hart, who was famously screwed out of the WWE Championship on his way out of the company in 1997, came back in 2010 to work a program with Vince McMahon based off of the screwjob.

When the opportunity to make money comes along, Vince McMahon and most of his stars are willing to let bygones be bygones. Frankly, while most fans don't expect to see CM Punk ever return to the WWE, nobody should put money on him staying away.
