5. 'End Of An Era' Hell In A Cell - WrestleMania XXVIII
In what was billed as one of the biggest WrestleMania matches in recent memory, the Undertaker and Triple H squared off once again on the biggest stage of them all, but this time there were two additional caveats. First, Shawn Michaels, the man that Taker forced to retire and the man with whom he had some his best matches ever, was announced as the special guest referee for the match. Second, it would be inside Hell in a Cell, and Triple H and the Undertaker were the two best performers in that match type. Billed as an End of an Era, this match had incredible hype around it, as the last remaining wrestlers from the 1990s, Triple H and the Undertaker, squared off inside the Cell that made both of them famous. There was simply something special about this match. The drama was off the charts, especially with HBK as the referee. From the punishment that Undertaker endured, to refusing to let HBK stop the match, to surviving a Sweet Chin Music/Pedigree combination, this match had fans on the edge of their seats. Undertaker was able to defeat Triple H, the man who, up until that point, had a better history in Hell in a Cell than him, and managed to overcome an emotionally-conflicted referee in Shawn Michaels. Not only that, but the three of them embraced and left the arena together, three of the most incredible athletes in WWE history. So not only did Undertaker reign victorious once again at WrestleMania, but he also brought an end to a bygone era. With this moment, he proved that he was the greatest legend in WWE, and the age in which he became his most famous, had finally come to a close.
