By the mid-to-late 1990s, Undertaker was one of the veterans of the company, and had become arguably the unquestioned leader of the locker room. He upheld the companys traditions, and kept all of the other wrestlers in line, both inside the ring and out. For the most part, he did this through his role as judge of Wrestlers Court, which was a major compliment for him to have. The things that caused Undertaker summon the roster to Wrestlers Court ranged from small mistakes to major errors in judgment, but in every case, Undertaker made sure that everyone understood how they were violating the laws of the locker room. Examples include Edge & Christian getting punished for buying gifts for the guy writing their segments, to Mick Foley abandoning Hardcore Holly to go to a carnival, to the Hardys taking Kanes first-class plane seat, and many more. The Court was meant to keep the roster in line and in order to do so, the person leading the whole thing needed to be someone with immense respect and leadership abilities; and that was the Undertaker. Whenever Undertaker passed judgment on a case, it was considered final, and no one questioned his decision. He was the perfect man to be the bridge between the wrestlers interests and WWEs management. While there have been other judges, including Triple H and Dutch Mantel, no one respected the court as much as when Undertaker was in charge.
