20 WCW Easter Eggs, References And In-Jokes You Never Noticed

3. Fake Razor And Fake Diesel

So, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash leave the WWF for the WCW. Of course, the logical solution is to have Jim Ross confuse sad and angry WWF fans by telling them that he was in contact with "Razor" and "Diesel" and that they would be returning to WWF television. Logically, WWF on-screen president Gorilla Monsoon explains that no, the wrestlers who were "Razor" and "Diesel" were now contracted to another company. However, Ross refuses to relent, and eventually on Raw, out walk Rick Bogner and Glen Jacobs dressed as Razor Ramon and Diesel. Heel announcer/manager Ross says that he never mentioned Hall or Nash by name, so he was correct in saying that "Razor" and "Diesel" were coming back. Given that the WWF eventually won the Monday Night Wars, contemplate the idea of there being a time that things got so dire that the WWF used a total bait and switch move as a way to get heel heat on Jim Ross. Sad, ridiculous and pathetic, right?
