20 Worst Moments Of CM Punk's WWE Career

11. Becoming A Tag Team Partner With Triple H Just One Month Later

Instead of a rematch, WWE insisted that Punk and Triple H set aside their differences to compete against Awesome Truth at Vengeance. By this time, the tensions between The Voice of the Voiceless and the COO extended backstage as well. Punk was always trying to grow and expand and felt like his wings were being clipped. Once again, Kevin Nash couldn't stay away from the action. However, instead of predictably assaulting Punk, during this match he went after his Cliq counterpart Triple H. Awesome Truth got the victory and fans were left scratching their heads. After the match, Triple H temporarily stepped back out of his role as ruler of Monday Night Raw. Instead, John Laurinaitis became the program's general manager. Punk and the former wrestler known as Johnny Ace would have some brush-ins, some of them funny, but most of them forgettable. Punk's weird career trajectory would only continue from here.
