20 Worst WWE Matches Since 2000

12. Candice Michelle Vs. Torrie Wilson (WrestleMania 22)

Strictly speaking, every strip match is atrocious now that we're several years removed from Attitude and Ruthless Aggression's gross excesses. We can't include them all, but we can shine a spotlight on the worst of the worst, which Candice Michelle vs. Torrie Wilson most certainly is.

Billed as a 'Playboy Pillow Fight,' it went pretty much exactly as you'd expect, with both competitors stripped to their underwear within minutes. They scrapped on a bed of pillows, but things soon got even weirder. The agents, in all their wisdom, booked a spot in which Torrie grabbed her dog from ringside then used to give her fellow Playboy centrefold a Stink Face. What's even more surprising is that this devastating manoeuvre wasn't the finisher: Wilson eventually ended the bout with a roll-up, having had Candice's Playboy photoshoot shoved in her face seconds prior.

It was everything wrong with the way WWE used to promote women's wrestling distilled into four awful minutes. The crowd hated it, too, proving that the company's exploitative aesthetics-over-everything approach had already worn thin, with such bouts highlighting the product's absolute worst elements.
