20 Wrestlers Who Won World Titles In The Fewest Matches

18. Kurt Angle (TNA Title)

Sheamus WWE Lightning Fast
TNA/IMPACT Wrestling

Number Of TV Matches: 21

Remember that point in the intro about hard resets on match counts when somebody jumped companies to join a new employer? That's what Kurt Angle did in 2006 - he traded WWE for TNA. Few were mad at it, because WWE had plonked Kurt on the already going-nowhere ECW brand for a spell before his departure.

Angle's debut match for TNA came on the 16 November '06 IMPACT vs. Abyss. By Sacrifice 2007 on 13 May of that year, the Olympian clutched his new home's top prize by beating Christian Cage and Sting in a three-way. That was only his 21st televised match for TNA, which is worth noting.

Looking back, it wouldn't have been a shocker had Angle won the belt his first night in. He was a top star, after all.
