Think you remember Kane squashing fools in squash after squash on WWF TV following his memorable debut in October 1997 at In Your House: Badd Blood? Think again. The 'Big Red Machine' was a stalwart attraction on house shows of the time, but he didn't actually work too often in front of the cameras before bagging the big one.

A win over Mankind got the ball rolling at Survivor Series '97. After that, Kane didn't work on-screen until No Way Out 1998 in February. February! In fact, his first Raw bout didn't happen until March '98, which is crazy. Three months later, during just his 13th televised match for the promotion, Kane beat Steve Austin in a 'First Blood' effort at King Of The Ring to become the new top champ in the land.
