20 WTF Moments In Stone Cold Steve Austin's WWE Career

11. Almost Being Shot By Brian Pillman

During the early days of the Attitude Era, storylines were pretty much no holds barred. The writers also had no problem convincing you that your favorite wrestler may have been dead. Triple H supposedly suffered a near-fatal snakebite at the hands of Stone Cold, and there was that one time that The Undertaker had been burned alive in a casket by Kane and Paul Bearer. A similar situation unfurled between former friends and tag team partners Steve Austin and Brian Pillman, once the Hollywood Blondes in WCW and now bitter rivals in WWE. At one point in 1997 on an episode of Raw, a few weeks before the Montreal Screwjob at Survivor Series, Austin and Pillman had quite an epic moment. Pillman was at home in Kentucky for a WWE interview and Austin tried to bust in. Pillman wasn't alone though; besides his wife, a few friends were hanging out, and the goons tried to bumrush Stone Cold. However, the Texas Rattlesnake still got inside, only for a gun to be pulled on him by his former pal. Of course, the camera cut out, but we did get to see that Austin had seemingly survived. What was most shocking though was the gun violence, which would happen again (by Stone Cold, ironically) at the height of the Attitude Era.
