7. Leading The Alliance During The Invasion
The Invasion, in theory, could have been the biggest event in pro wrestling history. Those who had clamoured for WCW wrestlers to do battle against WWE Superstars finally could have seen their dreams come true. Unfortunately, due to the way that WCW dissolved and the nature of the contracts of some of the promotion's biggest talents, they were allowed to sit back and collect money instead of running to wrestle for WWE. That still doesn't explain why Austin who, as we learned, had been unceremoniously booted from WCW in the 1990s, decided to lead the promotion as the Alliance leader. Hell, even Vince was begging to see the old Stone Cold (which we all wanted at that point) so he could march WWE's team to victory. That's not what happened though. Instead, to further his long-running feud with Kurt Angle over the WWF Championship, Austin was in charge of a team of WCW wrestlers. In the end, he lost his title to Angle and The Rock of Team WWE defeated Stone Cold at Survivor Series, ending the Alliance for good.
