20 WTF Moments In Stone Cold Steve Austin's WWE Career

14. Playing Guitar And Singing On Raw...A Lot

It would have been one thing if Austin's handshake with Vince at WrestleMania X-Seven had been a one-night ordeal (more on that later). Perhaps the two could have just respected each other and moved on. Unfortunately, that's not what happened. 2001 was a very, very strange year for Stone Cold. The WWE writers decided to milk the newfound friendship between Austin and McMahon for as much as they could, which often meant that the Texas Rattlesnake sought hugs from his boss and got jealous if anyone else, like Kurt Angle, was vying for more attention. It was all a little creepy, and even though Stone Cold began having his then-wife Debra accompany him, that didn't help matters. This was also the time that Austin began touting around a guitar and singing "Kumbaya." Not just once. Not even twice. It happened often. Funnily enough, when Austin had his most recent podcast with Edge and Christian, they goaded him into putting on a little cowboy hat and singing the song yet again, proving that to 2000s wrestling fans, this is unfortunately a pretty significant sticking point in Austin's career.
