9. Sniper

That's the original 'Truth Commission' pictured above. Pre-Jackyl (Don Callis), it was The Commandant who led his troops into battle against a litany of jobbers on Shotgun and other low-level shows in 1997-1998. Some will remember Kurrgan, others will know Recon/Bull Buchanan, but few will remember Sniper.

Who, by the way, didn't do much sniping.

Sniper was played by French-Canadian worker Luc Poirier. Before reaching the WWF, he had played a Sly Stallone rip off gimmick called Rambo elsewhere. In McMahon-land, Poirier couldn't use that, so he became a lower-tier tag-team star in a military-themed group obviously designed to get Kurrgan over as an eventual singles star.

That didn't work out, and neither did Snipe's own stint with the promotion. He fell by the wayside, split from Buchanan and returned to his career in Europe and on the indy scene. It's almost incredible that WCW didn't give him a gig for a year or two post-WWF, to be honest. They hired everyone else!
