1. Brakkus

A certain billionaire chairman must've rubbed his hands with glee when he first clapped eyes on German bodybuilder Brakkus in 1996. The WWF signed him up straight away, but they'd find out fast that all the muscle in the world couldn't help Brakkus become a decent worker.

There's a reason why you've never heard of him.

Brakkus was sent to ECW for seasoning. Paul Heyman was expected to take this muscular brute and turn him into someone that McMahon might want back. It didn't happen that way; Brakkus did return to the WWF, although it was immediately apparent that he was never going to make the grade.

Early promo vignettes from '96 had Brakkus sending out threats to the likes of Vader and Triple H. To put that bold strategy into context, his first televised bout was against Goldust on the 21 March 1998 episode of Shotgun. That says it all.
