At No Way Out 2000, Triple H defended the WWF Championship against Cactus Jack in Hell in a Cell, and if Cactus couldnt win the belt, all three faces of Foley (including Foley himself) would be forced to retire. Of course, Foley lost, and got an emotional sendoff from the WWF for about three weeks. A couple of weeks before Wrestlemania, the main event was scheduled to be Triple H defending against both The Rock and The Big Show, but the WWE strangely decided to give that match away on Raw. The reason was made clear afterward: Mick Foley was returning for one night only. Foley was the second man eliminated in the match, which meant that fans had to give him another goodbye while the main event was still going on. As awesome as it was to see Foley in a main event of Wrestlemania, it really cheapened his retirement match at No Way Out 2000 in that nobody ever talks about it. His subsequent returns in 2004, 2006, 2008, etc. etc., as well as a run in TNA, have further made the original retirement match insignificant.
