You'll notice Crews hasn't won a single match since being drafted to SmackDown, despite his enthusiasm for a fresh start.
The best he's accomplished was making it to the finals of a No. 1 contender's tournament for the WWE Speed Championship at the tail end of May, but that's only because Ivar, who had beaten him in the semifinals (and the week prior on Main Event), was injured, giving him a bye. Since then, he's lost to Andrade on SmackDown in a match that was entirely just about giving El Idolo a win after forgetting about him, too.
Crews has all the talent to get back to at least midcard title contender status, if not a champion, but WWE seems comfortable with him just being a go-to enhancement guy on Friday nights. Even if he comes out of this feud with Legado Del Fantasma with a win or two, it's doubtful it will lead to anything sustainable.
