2020 WWE Predictions We Got Horribly Wrong

6. CM Punk Will Wrestle In 2020 - Adam Wilbourn

"Look in my eyes, what do you see, a boat-load of Saudi oil-money!"

Do you know who said the above quote? CM Punk. Alright technically that's not true, it was just some inspirational b*llocks that popped up on Pinterest when I Googled 'Quotes about being wrong', but the point of it still stands.

I could've sat there in the glory days of late-2019 and predicted an old man would retire or that the bloke who dropped a podcast pipebomb (before they were cool) on WWE probably wouldn't come back to a company he despised just because it's Rumble season, but I didn't. Not only did I insist Punk would return in 2020, I said he'd do it at #30 in the Royal Rumble...when I get things wrong, I get them spectacularly wrong.

Now I'm supposed to admit that Adam Clery was right all along, learn from my mistakes, and move on. We all know that's not going to happen.

Would CM Punk have wrestled in 2020 had the Global Bastard™ not intervened? We'll never know for sure, but what we do know is that on Renee Paquette's Oral Sessions podcast Punk outlined his two conditions for a pro wrestling return; "...a story that would be fun to tell. Also, just the stupidest amount of money."

WWE has Scrooge McDuck levels of cash in the bank, so all it would take is for them is to write a decent storyline. It's a long shot but you heard it here first, CM Punk Will Wrestle In 2021.
