Each and every week on NXT, The Miz and Michael Cole would just bury Daniel Bryan. On the very first episode, Cole said "Daniel Bryan has the personality to make paint dry". Ouch. Was it a work, was it a shoot? It sure seemed like Cole genuinely loathed the guy. Or at least Vince did, since Cole acts as the boss' mouthpiece. As for The Miz, he was meant to be mentor to Bryan, but he ended up beating him up on the very first episode. Weeks of put downs followed. As for the producers, they booked Bryan to have a 0-5 losing record on NXT. It was a real WTF head-scratcher, I mean did they sign Danielson just to prove that WWE is better than the independent scene? It sure felt like a vendetta was in play.
