18. Fired By WWE For Choking Justin Roberts With A Tie
Despite being buried on NXT, Bryan did get to debut on Raw as part of the Nexus invasion. It was a hot angle and it should have propelled him on to great things. He and his NXT comrades tore the Raw set down, attacking the very heart of WWE. As part of the angle, Bryan even choked Justin Roberts. It was powerful, heated stuff, but no one really thought anything of the tie choking. So imagine the shock, when Bryan was then fired in the days afterwards. The angle had been celebrated as one of Raw's best ever, and he'd been fired for it? What the f***! The reason was apparently down to company sponsors being upset that WWE's PG rules were flouted when Bryan choked Roberts. A show built around fake violence had got in trouble for fake violence. For Bryan to lose his job over it was ridiculous.
