But again, when the two titles were merged into one it was the newer WWE Tag Team Championship that continued its lineage at the expense of the World Tag Team title. Of course, we’re getting into technicalities here and the confusing territory of merged lineages.

But what this essentially means is that today’s titles are in no way associated with the same ones held by industry legends like the Hart Foundation or the Legion of Doom.

As such, the decision to retire the more illustrious belt seems questionable once again to say the least.
