Unfortunately, much of this drama was diluted by a very conspicuous timeout taken to wipe the blood from Cena's face. A ringside doctor tended to the US Champion's wounds, disrupting the flow of the match and portraying Cena in an unusually vulnerable light. Although the safety of the wrestlers is obvious paramount, the temporary stoppage certainly took something away from the match, and certainly wouldn't be seen in the more exciting, unpredictable days of the Attitude Era.
