13. Jesse/Slam Master J
Ray Gordy, son of legendary Freebird Terry Gordy, was well-liked by WWE management (especially Smackdown writer Michael Hayes) and his peers, by all accounts. He was also a decent worker. Despite all of these positives, he never really amounted to much in the WWE. Gordy debuted in WWE in May 2007 as Jesse, one half of the Jess and Festus tag team. Their gimmick was that they were from the country and, whenever the ring bell would sound, Festus would transform from a slow, absent-minded guy to a raging maniac. Jess did the talking (and most of the wrestling) for the team. Festus was drafted to Raw in April 2009, signalling the end of their team. After their breakup, Jesse was repackaged as 'Slam Master J', a white boy wannabe gangster who hung around with Cryme Tyme, The gimmick was not a success, and neither was his team with Jimmy Wang Yang. They were totally forgettable. Gordy was released from his contract on April 22nd 2010 along with several other talents, in a cost-cutting move. He is now retired from wrestling and works as a police officer.
