Following the eye injury at the Great American Bash, Shawn Michaels announced that he had an announcement to make during the SummerSlam pay-per-view event. What happened next would be one of the most shocking moments in WWE history.

Michaels and his wife Rebecca came out to the ring to announce that doctors had advised him to retire due to eye damage and he was going to listen to them. Jericho, however, was not satisfied with that and came out to the ring to demand that Michaels say he was retiring because Chris Jericho injured him, not because some doctor recommended it.

Shawn agreed to those terms on one condition: Jericho had to admit to his own wife and kids that, while he did injure Shawn Michaels, Jericho will never be Shawn Michaels.

Jericho was infuriated by Shawn's attitude and took a wild swing at him, missing HBK but punching Shawn's wife Rebecca right in the face. The crowd was in absolutely shock as Jericho reacted like he had just committed the worst sin he possibly could have. 

The look on Shawn's face was enough to convey every emotion to the viewer at home and everyone knew that the blow-off match was going to be something personal.
