As Seth Rollins emerged as WWE's top heel in 2015, a showdown with John Cena became inevitable. With Rollins as WWE Champion and Cena as United States Champion, a title versus title bout was signed for SummerSlam. Rollins picked up the win with help from host Jon Stewart and became a double champion. At Night of Champions, with all WWE titles up for grabs, Cena cashed in his rematch clause, and the result was the most recent classic on this list.

Rollins, who had to defend his WWE Title against Sting immediately after this bout, started things out aggressively. Cena kept pace with the champion, though, and fought back with offense of his own. Unlike in many of Cena's high-profile bouts, there were no finisher kickouts - as a result, both men got more creative with their offense.
