25 Best Wrestling Moments Of 2025

23. The Young Bucks Vs. JetSpeed Chicken Fight

Great wrestling matches happen so often these days that it’s almost boring. It’s easy to feel spoiled, numb. You can tell that the wrestlers are working incredibly hard, that the near-falls are close, that the fans in the building are into it - but the sense that you’ve seen everything and that nothing is quite as great as it was even a couple of years ago is all pervasive. It’s rare that you come alive and open your mouth agape at a true moment of ingenuity.

Leave it to the Young Bucks.

Deep into an absolutely incredible TV match, Mike Bailey hoisted Matt Jackson onto his shoulders so that Kevin Knight could use his unreal vertical leap to execute a dropkick. Nick caught Knight mid-jump, who proceeded to unload on Matt in a fantastic chicken fight spot. The crowd went nuts for it.

For a team that does too much and have done for years, apparently, the Young Bucks are still innovating when you think you’ve seen it all. It was a great year for the Bucks generally, and not before time. It felt, in the wake of Brawl Out, that they’d lost their love for the business. They were overflowing with ideas in 2025.

The Bucks are so great that they make tag teams - Private Party being the most prominent example. Here, they actually created one: the match was so positively awesome that the hastily-named ‘JetSpeed’ entered the tag ranks and the PPV title picture on the back of it.
