7. Payback 2014

Payback 2014 was a show of two different, equally awesome main event matches. John Cena and Bray Wyatt brought their rivalry to a fitting conclusion in an incredible Last Man Standing match that did not fixate solely on their issues but also included the Usos and Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, who had been involved in a heated rivalry over the tag team titles. All of those Superstars came together to create a stunning Match of the Year candidate. In the night's marquee bout, Evolution's Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista attempted to re-establish their dominance for the second consecutive event when they battled The Shield in Six-Man Tag Team Elimination match. The contest was brutal and violent, with Roman Reigns taking a particularly nasty beating at the hands of his opponents, but he, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose banded together to see off the trio of former World Champions and prove why the Hounds of Justice were the new top faction in town. Sheamus and Cesaro beat the unholy hell out of each other in a fantastic opening match, Paige continued to leave her mark on the main roster with a victory over Alicia Fox and Rusev and Big E delivered a battle of the heavyweights but it was the two main events that really helped last year's edition of Payback earn a spot on the list as high as it is.
