25 Most Iconic WWE Ring Entrances Ever

1. Stone Cold Steve Austin (WrestleMania X-Seven)

Stone Cold Steve Austin had foreshadowed what was to go down at the climax of his WrestleMania X-Seven WWE Championship main event with The Rock in the powerful sit-down interview with 'The Great One' that was beautifully chopped up for the equally epic "My Way" pre-match video package.

"I need to beat you Rock. I need to beat you more than anything you can ever imagine" were the words that echoed around fans' heads when they'd reattached them after 'The Rattlesnake' shook hands with Vince McMahon to seal his heel turn, but the fixed glare Austin gave a stadium full of his home state natives proved to be yet another sign of the dark days ahead.

The lowkey acting masterclass is juxtaposed beautifully with the sheer scale of his arrival too. Back in a stadium for a pay-per-view for the first time since the Royal Rumble 1997 and the first WrestleMania in nearly a decade, Austin had never walked an aisle so spectacular during his time with WWE, but this one was erected on the back of all of his immensely hard graft. The promised land had been reached through the fruits of his labour, and with WCW and ECW both dead at the feet of the market leader, the sense of personal and professional missions accomplished hung unmistakably over the entire event. Both entrance and victory lap, Stone Cold was taking what he thought might be the last ever BMF walk to the sound of cheers. The mixed emotions radiate from his expressions like the thousands of flashbulbs bouncing off his surgically repaired frame.
