25 Most Iconic WWE Ring Entrances Ever

21. Dominik Mysterio (WrestleMania 39)

Dominik Mysterio’s WrestleMania 39 entrance is a pitch-perfect example of the company that coined the phrase "Sports Entertainment" actually demonstrating a mastery of it.

By April 2023, Dominik had gone from Rey Mysterio’s wide-eyed, respectful son to WWE’s most hilariously detestable nepo-baby who also happened to moonlight as whiny, deluded ex-con after a few hours in local jail. Carried himself like Eddie Guerrero by way of The Shawshank Redemption, 'Dirty Dom' milked his supposedly dark past for all it was worth ahead of his bout with his "deadbeat Dad".

The crowd inside SoFi Stadium were already itching to see Rey give his brattish boy the beating he so richly deserved, after the 'Biggest Little Man' finally agreed to the fight. But when Dom rolled in flanked by a full police escort, the audience couldn’t help but love hating just how far he’d leaned into the bit. Handcuffed, hoodie up until it came down to reveal a lucha mask that itself obscured a scowl, every detail was thought all the way through to highlight just how much fun the company were having with the character, which itself assured the crowd that the match would have been given similar attention.

The back of the prison van swung open like he was a legitimate threat to the public, not a privileged kid who got mouthy at Thanksgiving. And all of it was played just straight enough by Dom and the rent-a-cops - like this was the return of a dangerous man rather than a storyline crybaby. It was daft, theatrical and it completely ruled. The best entrances tell part of the story before the bell even rings - Dom’s did just that and added a layer of delicious heat to a father-son clash already fuelled by betrayal, legacy, and beyond-the-pale remarks. WrestleMania entrances are meant to elevate anyway, but this one moved Dominik from midcard meme to legitimate heat magnet.
