Just when you thought we'd seen the last sudden 2021 departure of a high profile WWE name, Vince McMahon's company only went and dropped the mother of all bombshells that was the releasing of former Eater of Worlds, Universal Champion, and part-time devilish clown Bray Wyatt.

The overall response to this abrupt end to what has often been a frustrating but always intriguing WWE run has been remarkably positive, with many pointing out the sheer creativity and innovation that Wyatt pumped into just about everything he did whilst under contract. But if news of the likes of Ric Flair and Adam Cole seemingly following suit and heading out the door (in the not too distant future for the latter) is anything to go by, then could McMahon's odd tactic of overloading AEW with talent in an effort to cripple them financially actually be, erm, a thing?

That's perhaps a question for another day. For now, let's assess what actually went down on screen over the last seven days.

John Cena finally got his SummerSlam Universal Championship match against The Head of the Table, through admittedly questionable means. Bill Goldberg's kid has grown the hell up. Drew McIntyre became a 16-time World Champion, according to a faint Michael Cole. And Dakota Kai finally stabbed her bud in the back on the black and gold brand.

The road to SummerSlam is heating up, it appears nobody is indeed safe when it comes to their spot within the company as a whole, and there's no telling who will follow in The Boss' footsteps and return to the spotlight next. What we do know, however, is that The Miz is officially a question on The Chase; go check his Instagram.
