23. Otis Loses Money In The Bank

There's more to come on the 2020 Money In The Bank match soon, but first - big Otis was the men's winner that year, and he was riding the crest of a wave as Mandy Rose's unlikely love interest at the same time. That didn't do much for his Heavy Machinery tag-team with Tucker, to be honest. It became clear that WWE wanted to move on from the duo.

So, that's what they did come Hell In A Cell. There, Tucker betrayed Otis by helping The Miz beat him for the briefcase. It was a shocking turn, albeit one that didn't bode well for the reborn heel "Tucky". Heavy Machinery's split went exactly nowhere, but there was a bigger problem in play: MITB was bouncing around between wrestlers.

The case, and the title shot that comes with it, just didn't feel all that important or high profile. Otis was realistically never going to cash in and win any of the major World Titles, and Miz was only ever going to be a transitional champ himself if he did. That proved to be the case after he cashed in on Drew McIntyre at Elimination Chamber.

Miz only won the belt so Bobby Lashley had someone to maul.

It was deflating to see Otis go from the highs of snogging Mandy and hauling down Money In The Bank to working a going nowhere feud with his old buddy Tucker. WWE gave up on his heartwarming push in a hurry, which led many to ask this question: Why bother booking him to win in the first place?!
