25 Worst Wrestling Moments Of 2021
14. WWE Break Up The Hurt Business
The Hurt Business were one of the few highlights of WWE television in 2021. A mix of charisma, credibility, and good in-ring work, the faction was a believable threat that gained popularity with every passing week on Monday Night Raw. At a time when WWE desperately needed acts for fans to believe in, The Hurt Business was one of the very few enjoyable acts in the company.
Bobby Lashley looked more like a superstar than he had at any other point in his career during feuds with Drew McIntyre and Riddle, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander brought interest to the Raw tag team division with their run as champions at the start of 2021, and MVP's expert mic skills sold the group as a dominant force in WWE.
Then, two weeks before WrestleMania 37 and with Bobby Lashley as the reigning WWE Champion, The Hurt Business split up on the March 29th episode of Raw. It made zero sense, felt premature, and damaged all the members of the faction's standing in WWE. Shelton Benjamin revealed that Vince McMahon told him that the group had been "taken as far as they could go", but this was absolutely not the case.
