25 'WWE Superstars' Matches That Were Actually Awesome

13. Kofi Kingston vs. MVP vs. Matt Hardy (June 25, 2009)

With the exception of the aforementioned ECW Championship match between Christian and Tommy Dreamer, the only other title match to ever occur on 'WWE Superstars' took place on the June 25, 2009 episode. It pitted Kofi Kingston against MVP and Matt Hardy in a Triple Threat match where his coveted United States Championship was up for grabs. It wouldn't prove to be as big of a challenge as his Fatal 4-Way title defense at Extreme Rules earlier that month, but it still wouldn't be a walk in the park for the fighting champion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZy7OLps8U8 Kingston and MVP had a very fun series of matches over the U.S. title that summer and throwing Hardy into the mix only made the match better. Similar to any other multi-man match, the action was chaotic and there were several points where Kingston was on the verge of losing his prestigious prize. MVP and Hardy both put forth strong efforts, but it wasn't enough to unseat the Ghanaian grappler as champion. Also, an injury Hardy suffered during the match kept him out of action for two months before he returned as a member of the SmackDown brand.
