25 'WWE Superstars' Matches That Were Actually Awesome

18. Christian vs. Drew McIntyre (May 31, 2012)

After a near three-month absence from WWE, Christian made his return from injury at 2012's Over the Limit pay-per-view where he won an over-the-top-rope Battle Royal to become the new No. 1 contender to the Intercontinental Championship. Later on that same night, Christian was successful in defeating Cody Rhodes to capture his fourth Intercontinental title. From there, Christian went on to have one of the best runs of his career, competing in great matches on an every episode of Raw and SmackDown. He made a quick stop on 'WWE Superstars' on the May 31 episode for a match against Drew McIntyre and they did not disappoint. McIntyre is another one of those talents that had always been an excellent hand in the ring but never received the push he deserved. By this point, McIntyre (who you'll see many more times on this list) had become a regular on 'Superstars', but was still having awesome matches every week. This was one of them. Christian and McIntyre gave fans a taste of what they were capable of during their series of matches on SmackDown back in 2010, but this match blew those bouts right out of the water. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDkwOyTpUEU The Chosen One had such a stellar performance that you would've thought the Intercontinental title was on the line. It's a shame the two never ultimately feuded over the strap that year.
