3 Announced Matches SCRAPPED From Last Night's WWE Raw
Taking "card subject to change" to a whole new level.
None of the three grudge matches previously confirmed for last night's episode of WWE Raw happened on the show, with the promotion taking the standard "card subject to change" disclaimer to the extreme.
WWE made the uncharacteristic move of confirming a trio of bouts a full week in advance following the 23 August show. Following the events of that night, The Miz vs. John Morrison, Sheamus vs. Bobby Lashley, and Eva Marie vs. Doudrop were all put together, though none went down in the expected form.
Eva Marie and Doudrop came closest. The former tag team, who split at SummerSlam 2021, hit the ring to wrestle. Doudrop jumped Eva from behind before the bell. The former Piper Niven then roughed her up, counting her own visual three before announcer Mike Rome declared Eva was unable to compete.
Morrison ended up wrestling Omos in the absence of Miz (who had "gone back to Hollywood," per John in a backstage segment), losing in two minutes.
Sheamus, meanwhile, answered Damian Priest's United States Championship open challenge, wrestling the champ and Drew McIntyre in a Triple Threat later on. Lashley and MVP mounted a failed challenge for Riddle and Randy Orton's Raw Tag Team Titles in the main event.
