3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (April 12 - Results & Review)

2. Surprisingly Well Done

Zak Knight Angelo Parker
AEW

The story framing Angelo Parker vs. Zak Knight has been the drizzling sh*ts, but that's not necessarily their fault. All Ang and Zak could do was deliver a solid outing in-ring, and they tried their best to do that. Social media doesn't seem keen on the match, but this writer thinks it was better than expected.

Parker got cracked open early, which meant he was portrayed as a baby constantly up against it after that. Almost literally smelling blood, Knight came across as a dangerous loose cannon who loves inflicting pain. Honestly? The match was way better than it perhaps had any right to be.

AEW should move on from this tale, 'cause it's been crap, but these lads can be proud of themselves for gamely doing everything they could to make something of the sorry situation. It's a mystery whether or not Zak has any long-term future on the roster, to be fair. He might've only been drafted in as backup for Saraya during this rivalry before fizzling out.

Only time will tell.
