3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (April 12 - Results & Review)

1. Orange Cassidy’s Fire

Orange Cassidy Alex Reynolds
AEW

Orange Cassidy is at his best when he dispenses with the laid back stuff and gets fiery. The ex-International Champ did that at several points during this opener vs. Alex Reynolds, and the match was better for it. Orange grew increasingly frustrated with John Silver for interfering, then kinda/almost/sort of snapped to get his revenge.

Post-match, Trent Beretta came out onto the stage and had a staredown with his old pal. Then, Chuck Taylor appeared behind Cassidy and it looked for all the world like he was about to turn too. Nope. Chuck stopped Trent from entering the ring, then breezed straight past Orange on his way out through the crowd.

The moment wasn't OTT by any means, but it did get the point across. Chuck is caught in the middle, and he doesn't know which horse to back yet. Some sort of explanation from Beretta would be nice soon - that'd let the story develop. Hey, at least these guys have a story to tell instead of just working random matches.

Progress!
