3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Dec 22 - Results & Review)
2. Black Taurus
Here's the aforementioned upside to that main.
Black Taurus looked like a million bucks at Final Battle vs. Vikingo, and Tony Khan must've been impressed by his performance on the ROH pay-per-view. That'd explain why Taurus was drafted in for a rematch with El Hijo on Rampage. Once again, the big man shone in AEW's spotlight.
Perhaps the most annoying thing about someone doing so well in a one-off like this is that you know they won't be around long enough to follow up on it. AEW has a bit of an erratic approach to scenarios like this; wrestlers dip in and out frequently, so Black Taurus probably won't be heard from again for a while.
That's a pity, because he offers something totally different to most lucha workers. Taurus is bigger, but still has serious agility on top of his natural power. The press slam spot he and Vikingo worked on Friday looked stunning. They got some big air on that, but El Hijo managed to rotate and bump safely.
Impressive all-round showing from Taurus especially.
