3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Jan 26 - Results & Review)

1. Upside

Jon Moxley Lee Moriarty
AEW

The opener was a cracking little match.

Jon Moxley was as giving as ever, but smartly kept blood out of the equation. Claret would've been unnecessary and yet...that hasn't stopped Mox before! Lee Moriarty matched Jon's intensity halfway, which helped. At one point, it genuinely seemed like he might cause an upset and get the 'W'.

AEW books too many of these short, week-long grumbles between wrestlers. They're tiresome, but this was a solid showing from both guys. There's more tag action between BCC and the Moriarty and Shane Taylor combo to come on Collision - then, Tony Khan will move on.

Credit must go to Moxley yet again for refusing to maul workers he's in there with. He picks his spots to dominate, but is generally very generous with selling and letting others shine. If only this was actually gonna lead to something for Lee, eh?
