3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Nov 25 - Results & Review)

Ups...

3. Kris Statlander Rebounds

Kris Statlander Diamante
AEW

Statlander lost the TBS Title to Julia Hart back at Full Gear, so she was always gonna need something to help her rebound from that setback. As it turned out, Diamante was the perfect tonic. Best of all, this wasn't some showcase squash for Kris. It was a competitive, solid and supremely physical match for both women.

That sudden clothesline finish looked sweet too.

Mercedes Martinez and Diamante jumped Statlander after the bell before Willow Nightingale rushed out to make the save. That moves Kris on from the TBS Title scene neatly, but still keeps the door slightly ajar due to Willow's own involvement with Julia and Skye Blue. Interesting stuff all round then.

Tony Khan did well to give Stat a strong rebound win post-title loss whilst simultaneously shifting her onto something fresh and keeping his options open if she's needed for a championship rematch. Some may argue that's wishy-washy booking, but it worked for this fan.
