3 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (Nov 25 - Results & Review)
2. A Top Showing For Hook
It was a smart idea to put Hook in there with Rocky Romero.
Romero is a veteran of the game who works well against anybody. He understands how to "get his sh*t in" whilst still making an opponent look good, and that's exactly what transpired during Rampage's slick opener. These guys worked so well together that a rematch really sounds viable on a bigger show.
There was a nice zip to everything before Hook grabbed the submission win. Taz's lad has witnessed his roll slowing significantly since debuting amidst much fanfare, but the dude's still only 24 years old and is visibly improving every time he hits the ring. Consumer patience might well be rewarded when it comes to Hook.
The fact he's pretty much exclusively working lengthier matches rather than endless squashes is a great sign for his future too. Here's hoping Hook bought Rocky a coffee on the road for helping make him look like the man. This was a super-enjoyable kick off to the three hour block.
