3 Ups & 3 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Jan 11)

1. The Rightful Champion?

Brian Cage wasn't all that happy about the ending to his World Championship match with Johnny Impact, and so he shouldn't be. Impact's fellow contestants on Survivor season 37 got involved at one point, with Nick Wilson distracting the referee while Cage was pinning Impact and Davie Rickenbacker mouthing off at The Machine.

We're meant to perceive Johnny as this lovable good guy who's a fighting champion. The way Cage put it here though completely swayed that opinion, and made us believe that he should indeed be the current Impact World Champion. He could've and would've become the champion if it weren't for these guys. As always though, the referee's decision does stand.

The Machine appears to be sticking around in the main event picture for now, which is a great thing to see. It'll be interesting to see where he fits in to the scene seeing as Killer Kross is also now involved, although it just adds another dynamic to the rivalry in reality. That's never a bad thing, especially in this case.
