3 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE NXT UK (1 April)
Ups...
3. Consider This Milk Spilled
While nothing to write home about, the main event NXT UK Tag Team Championships bout pitting Pretty Deadly defending against Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan was still a fun outing.
There were instances throughout the contest where a breakup was teased from Williams and Jordan, such as the former tagging himself in to the chagrin of Amir. Luckily, this didn’t distract us too much from the meat of the match; Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley tactically keeping Amir in their corner at all costs. They may not be as established a team as some of the other former NXT UK Tag Team Champions, but they’re excellent at working the WWE style. Subtle manoeuvres to keep Jordan grounded proved this.
A ref bump led to Kenny being willing to cheat to become champion. With Amir insisting they don’t, it was instead he who was struck across the back with a championship belt by Williams. Pretty Deadly followed up with a move dubbed the Spilled Milk (don’t ask), and that was that.
This is for the best. The Kenny Williams/Amir Jordan partnership has run its course by now. There was never an official tag team there, really. Once the inevitable rivalry has concluded, Kenny Williams absolutely must become a staple of the upper mid-card. He’s simply too good at being a d*ck to not be.
