3 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE NXT UK (1 April)
2. That's One Lucky Kid
Teoman is f*cking brilliant.
The wXw standout, in just his second WWE match, has already been established as a threatening member of NXT UK’s roster, complete with a simplistic yet effective character and solid in-ring ability. He’s a shoe-in to be a future Heritage Cup Champion, for sure.
His bout against resident enhancement talent Josh Morrell was superb. More of a pseudo squash this one, in that Morrell got some decent offence in, but there was never any coming back for the guy. Teoman focused his offence on Morrell’s ankle early on in the match, eventually turning his attention to his neck. Between a stiff grounded forearm and missile dropkick to the head, it took mere seconds after being trapped in Teoman’s crossface before poor Josh submitted.
This did exactly what was needed of it. Coming into NXT UK, it would have been very easy for Teoman to become lost in the shuffle before eventually finding his footing. That he hasn’t is a good sign for the future. The former Lucky Kid is the sort of guy capable of carrying a brand. Let’s just hope he’s allowed to do that sort of work going forward in NXT UK.
