3 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Smackville

1. It Was Entirely Missable

The problem with one-hour specials in WWE land is that this company has such an established formula by now, and it predates the Network. In such a brief, whirlwind period of the time, WWE enjoy presenting a few matches, a few promos and that's about it. Pretty much nothing of any consequence happened at Smackville.

It was 100% skippable stuff.

That's not to say it was horrible, but you won't need to catch up on anything that happened at the event before Monday's Raw or Tuesday's SmackDown episodes. To that point, there's a solid chance WWE won't bother referencing anything that happened in Nashville themselves. This was what it was: it was part of a house show being filmed for the sake of it.

Nobody will remember Smackville one week from now. If that sounds like unfair criticism, then wait seven days and try to remember individual spots, lines from the interviews on offer or literally anything that went down here. It was a fluff piece for subscribers with nothing better to do with their Saturday evenings.
